RCCB refers to Residual Current-operated Circuit Breaker. ELCB is an abbreviation for Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker, which was used in the previous product standard. The current product standard IEC1008-1 uses the term RCCB. The 2 terms refer to the same product.

Unlike other makes of RCCBs, Hager RCCBs are designed with an anti-nuisance tripping feature, and do not unnecessarily tripped unless there is a genuine earth fault. The careful choice of material used, robust filtering characteristics and high quality manufacturing processes ensure that the Hager RCCB remains one of the most reliable and widely used brand in many countries.

RCCB is only meant for AC supply and will not function on DC circuits.
MCB can be used on DC circuits but some of the characteristics, eg. breaking capacity, magnetic setting, will be altered. Pls consult the technical pages on our general catalogue or contact us for more info.

Most ELRs do not tell the user the level of earth leakage current in the protected circuit. The user is usually caught off-guard when the electrical supply is suddenly cut off. Such sudden tripping results in inconveniences and loss of productivity.
Hager ELR, model HR421, HR422 and HR423, comes with an optical scale to show the user the level of earth leakage current so that the user can plan to conduct preventive maintenance of the installation / equipment. The sensitivity and time-delay settings on the ELR are adjustable and can be sealed.

RCBO refers to Residual current operated Circuit Breaker with integral Overcurrent protection. In essence, it is a MCB + RCCB, integrated as one device. RCBO offers overload, short-circuit and earth-leakage protection. They are usually for single-phase installation and rated at max 40A with 10mA, 30mA, 100mA and 300mA protection.

Lightnings create transient overvoltages which can be detrimental to sensitive electronic equipment. Surge protective devices (SPDs) or surge arresters are used to divert these overvoltages to the ground. Hager offers a wide range of SPDs for different applications.

Time-switches allow user to set the time to switch on and off the connected circuits. The weekly or 7-day time-switches allow you to even have different time-settings in each day of the week. There is even an annual time-switch where user can program the public holidays into the device.
Time-switches come with or without supply failure reserve. The supply failure reserve ensures that the timing of the time-switch continues to run even in the event of a power failure. The supply failure reserve of Hager electromechanical time-switches is 200 hrs and for the digital time-switches, which are incorporated with lithium battery, the supply failure reserve ranges from 3 to 5 years, depending on model.

Besides the common method of using wall-mounted dimmers such as the ones offered under Hager Wiring Accessories, modular dimmers are also available, which are mounted in the distribution boards.
Hager wall-mounted dimmers are available in System 8000, 9000 and 9088, the latter two allows user to use coloured clip-on covers to match the wall finishing / interior design. These dimmers are rated at 500W for incandescent lamps and 150W for halogen lamps. Care must be taken not to exceed the prescribed load of the dimmer. Modular dimmers can be used to control simple dimming circuit to more sophisticated commercial lightings, rated from 20-1000W, where brightness, scenes, dimming speed, etc can be set. Some dimmers are equipped with 1/10V interface to dim fluorescent lamps via electronic ballast. The IP rating refers to the Ingress Protection. There are usually 2 digits, ranging from 0 to 6. The 1st digit refers to protection against solid substances and the 2nd digit refers to protection against liquid substances. The required IP index to be used will depend on the environment that the enclosure is mounted.
